Going through infertility can be challenging for any individual or couple. Many people experience troubles conceiving, which is why it is so important that couples have all the facts when it comes to their chances for infertility. Here are some things you need to know about infertility.

1. Endometriosis Gets Worse With Age

It is important to recognize the dangers of endometriosis. When a woman starts to menstruate, she will develop tiny scars on her uterus. Each time that the egg isn't fertilized, it will leave a scar. This scar can make it harder over time to conceive, seeing that there is too much scar tissue. This means that the longer you menstruate without getting pregnant, the higher the chance will be that you will have problems with miscarriages or infertility.

It is important to keep that in mind when you are planning your family. If you started menstruating when you were young and then you wait until you are older to have kids, there is a chance that the endometriosis could prevent you from having a healthy pregnancy.

2. Get Your Hormones Regulated

Many people have problems with their thyroid. Whether it is a medical condition such as Hashimoto's disease, or if it is a simple problem with the thyroid, this could easily affect your ability to get pregnant. Hormones play such a critical role in conceiving. This is why they should be completely balanced before you try to get pregnant.

Some signs that you might have a hormonal imbalance are that you are hungry a lot or have no appetite, are incredibly hormonal and irritable, are sleepy all the time or can't sleep at all, gain weight, have unexplained weight loss and a myriad of other things. If you suspect you have a problem with your hormones, you should talk to your doctor right away. They can help you to get the right medications that you need to ensure that your hormone levels are healthy.

3. Try To Relax and Not Stress About Getting Pregnant

This may seem like an impossible feat, but if you are having a difficult time getting pregnant, it is important that you try to relax about it. The more you are stressed the more likely you are not to conceive. Try taking a vacation, take a couple months off from trying to get pregnant, consider adoption or anything else that might take the pressure off.

If after doing these things you are still having a hard time getting pregnant, you may want to consider going to a fertility specialist or go to websites of an OBGYN near you.
